ENID —
For the second year in a row, a dish from an Enid restaurant adorns the cover of the official dining guide of Oklahoma.
Entrees from four restaurants in the state are featured on the cover of the 2012 Discover Oklahoma Destination Dining Guide, a publication from the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department. One of the four featured restaurants is Sula Korean Café, 1407 S. Van Buren.
This follows the cover of the 2011 Dining Guide, which featured a steak, new potatoes and green beans from Panevino Wine & Tapas Bar, 124 W. Randolph.
“It’s quite an honor to have one of our outstanding Enid restaurants showcased on the cover of an Oklahoma tourism publication,” said Enid Convention & Visitors Bureau Director Marcy Jarrett. “To have Enid represented on a cover two years in a row speaks volumes of the many unique dining experiences Enid has to offer.”
The listing for Sula Korean Café in the dining guide begins, “If you think Enid is the last place you’d look for authentic and delicious Korean food, think again. Sula is the real deal.”
The food-lover’s companion is compiled by Discover Oklahoma, and is a guide for foodies looking to explore Oklahoma through its many diners, kitchens, drive-ins and restaurants. Panevino again is featured in the 2012 guide, as is Costello’s Continental Cuisine at 222 Sunset Plaza. Also featured in a special dessert section are the cupcakes from Angel Delight Bakery & Tea Room, 417 S. Washington.
The 2012 Discover Oklahoma Destination Dining Guide is free and available at the Enid Welcome Center in the historic Kress Building, part of the Cherokee Strip Conference Center on the corner of Maine and Independence. The guides also are being distributed at the 12 Tourism Information Centers statewide and through the state tourism website, www .TravelOK.com.
The Enid Welcome Center also has many other free OTRD publications available, including the 2012 Oklahoma Travel Guide, a glossy magazine filled cover to cover with helpful tips, stunning photography, contact information and travel ideas covering the entire state, and Oklahoma’s Western Experience, a guide to guest ranches, country stays, horseback riding and bed and breakfasts.
There also are guides to wineries and vineyards, farmers markets, hunting, Indian country and Route 66, as well as state road maps and an Oklahoma agritourism map.
