Lamont United Methodist Church will be doing a six-week study on “Fireproof,” starting Oct. 11. Prior to the study on Sept. 27, the church will show the movie “Fireproof” at 6 p.m.
Anyone who is married, has been married or is going to be getting married is encouraged to attend. Contact the church pastor, Vera Walton, for information.

Lamont United Methodist Church will host “Girls Night” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. All women are welcome.

DCLA FCA officers were selected for the 2009-2010 year: Derric Richards, president; Jill Hobbs, vice president; Chad Mendenhall, secretary and reporter; and Levi Reese, treasurer. They will have their first meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday. They plan to attend FCA Game Day on Sept. 26 in Stillwater.

DCLA’s Parent Teacher Organization met Friday. They are planning PTO’s fall carnival in October. Organizations or groups whom would like to have a game booth at the carnival can contact any PTO member. Their next meeting is 7 p.m. Oct. 1 in Deer Creek Elementary School cafeteria. Anyone is welcome to join PTO.

Homecoming spirit week starts Monday at Deer Creek-Lamont schools. Monday is Psycodelic Day, Sept. 22 is Funky Hair Day, Sept. 23 is Decade Day, Sept. 24 is Battle of the Bands Day and Sept. 25 is Spirit Day and is homecoming.

Junior high — Jessica Blanton, first; Katherine Muegge, 10th; Contessa Travis, 17th; Kimberly Scott, 19th; Shelby McKee, 20th; and Chi Anne Jeffries, 22nd.
High school — Lindsey Campbell, 11th; Marian Muegge, 16th; Carly Metcalf, 19th; Ariel Warrior, 24th; Rachel Kirby, 25th; and Morgan Thompson, 31st.
