ENID, Okla. —
Enid Public Schools Board of Education will swear in three members for their new terms on the board and elect board officers when they meet in regular session at 6 tonight at the Central Office, 500 S. Independence.
Ernie Currier, Cheryl Patterson and Kyle Whitehead are to be sworn in.
The board then will set about other annual housekeeping issues, including appointment of clerk, encumbrance clerk, minutes and assistant minutes clerks, and board treasurer.
The board will consider three change orders to contracts for ongoing work. These include a $4,530 increase to the contract with Dreamscapes LLC for landscaping at Waller Middle School; a $1,933 increase for the cost of bricks and addition of two bathroom grab bars to the contract with Henson Construction Company for renovations to Emerson Middle School; and a $10,389 increase to the contract with Heritage Construction for addition of a storm drain box, grate and frame at Monroe Elementary School. It also will consider signing a contract with Easley Associates Architects for design of masonry repair and tuck pointing at Enid High School, Emerson and Longfellow middle schools, McKinley Elementary, Lincoln Academy and the old education building.
In other matters, the board will proclaim Feb. 25 to March 1 “Read Across America Week,” consider routine fund transfers and encumbrances, contemplate purchase of software for use by the child nutrition division, consider appropriating additional state and federal aid, consider granting approval for the high school baseball team to travel to Fort Smith, Ark., for a tournament, hold an executive session for personnel issues, and consider hirings and retirements.
