ENID, Okla. —
Several candidates filed for election to municipal offices on the first two days of the three-day filing period, said Garfield County Election Board Secretary Roy Schneider.
Five candidates filed for offices Monday, and two more brought their papers in Tuesday.
In the town of Covington, Sherry Sterling filed for a four-year term as a trustee.
Patricia K. Berry and Warren Dell filed for the Ward 2 trustee spot in Garber, and Sheri L. Dennis filed for election as town treasurer in Garber. Also in Garber, Natawsha Wedel filed for election as city clerk.
Kay Davidson and Stephen L. Cahoon filed for election as treasurer in Lahoma.
Schneider said he expects others to file before registration closes at 5 tonight.
“More people will file, presumably. There are still papers out,” he said.
Municipal elections will be April 2.
