ENID, Okla. —
College planning, financial aid and how to get scholarships are important topics for students and their parents.
Parents of seniors and sophomores at Enid High School can brush up on what they need to know at meetings coming up next week and the week after.
The EHS Guidance Department has scheduled a senior parent meeting for 6 p.m. Tuesday in the high school auditorium.
A sophomore parent meeting with Lisa Nelson, Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, is set for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 24.
Nelson will explain how parents can use PLAN test score results to assist with college and career readiness. Test results will be available at the meeting.
Nelson also will discuss Oklahoma’s Promise Scholarship, which can assist with college tuition costs. Students are required to apply for the program by the end of their sophomore year in order to qualify.
Kitrena Hime, EHS counselor, will share the importance of the PSAT, which is not only useful for college and career planning, but also is the determining assessment for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
