ENID, Okla. — A Covington man charged with kidnapping, rape and two other felonies is facing four possible life sentences because of prior felony convictions.

Anthony Lee Figurelli, 32, was arraigned Thursday on counts of first-degree rape, for-cible sodomy, kidnapping and domestic abuse assault and battery related to a weekend incident involving his 34-year-old live-in girlfriend.

Because of prior convictions for domestic abuse and shooting with intent to kill, Figurelli faces four years to life in prison on the domestic abuse charge and 20 years to life on the other three charges.

Figurelli appeared Thursday via video before Special District Judge Brian Lovell.

Bond previously was set at $250,000 and Figurelli was served Monday with an emergency protective order preventing him from having further contact with the 34-year-old woman.

According to an affidavit filed in the case, Garfield County Sheriff’s Office deputies took a report from a woman Sunday about an incident that began Saturday.

She said Figurelli would not allow her to leave their residence in Covington and would not let her out of his sight, according to the affidavit.

The woman said Figurelli threatened to physically harm her, threatened to kill members of her family and threatened to infect her son with HIV, showing her a syringe, according to the affidavit.

The woman said they were in a car at about 10 p.m. Saturday in the area of 19th and Rupe. Figurelli stopped the car and held a knife to her throat, telling her he would slit her throat if she lied to him, the affidavit states. Figurelli then forced the woman to have oral sex and sex with him in the vehicle.

She said Figurelli told her he used to have sex with his sister and began calling her by his sister’s name, the affidavit states. The woman said they returned to Covington at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday, and Figurelli continued to threaten her, her son and her family.

She said Figurelli acted as if he had taken drugs and eventually went out to the car and passed out. She said she waited to ensure Figurelli had fallen asleep, but fell asleep herself and awoke to Figurelli grabbing her, according to the affidavit.

She said Figurelli struck her with his belt, waking his daughter, who saw him beating the woman, according to the affidavit. He forced the woman to eat breakfast with him and then clean the house before passing out. The woman said she saw her neighbor outside, so she grabbed her son and left.

Deputies went to Figurelli’s home Sunday afternoon and were told by three children Figurelli was not home. When asked by deputies if they were lying, the children said they were and had been instructed to say Figurelli was not inside, according to the affidavit.

Figurelli was taken into custody and a woman took the three children from the home. Figurelli said he did not want to speak to deputies without an attorney present.

Figurelli was ordered to return to court Dec. 3 for a bond appearance.
