2 injured when car runs through fence

Kingfisher County was the site of an accident at about 1:34 a.m. Sunday when a car was unable to stop at an intersection and drove through a fence.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported the accident occurred 10 miles east and three miles north of Kingfisher on a county road in Kingfisher County.

A 1999 Chevrolet driven by Landon P. Rother, 21, of Cashion, was southbound on a county road at a high rate of speed. He was unable to stop at an intersection, drove through a barbed wire fence and rolled one and a quarter times, coming to rest on the driver’s side.

A passenger, John Seton, 21, of Cashion, was ejected. He was taken to Kingfisher Regional Hospital by Kingfisher EMS and transported by Eagle Med to OU Trauma Center, Oklahoma City, with internal injuries. He was listed in stable condition.

Another passenger, Maria D. Thompson, 18, of Crescent, was transported to Kingfisher Regional by Kingfisher EMS and treated and released with minor injuries.

Rother was not injured.

According to the trooper’s report, Rother was driving under the influence. Neither Rother nor Seton were wearing their seatbelts.
