ENID, Okla. —
Residents will usher in the Christmas season Friday night with the annual Enid Lights Up the Plains celebration downtown.
The event begins at 5 p.m., and Santa Claus arrives at 5:30. Entertainment, hot chocolate and other goodies will be available on the Garfield County Court House lawn.

Rides in a horse-drawn wagon will be available, and fireworks will begin at about 7 p.m.
Enid Lights Up the Plains was started 18 years ago.
During the Christmas shopping season, many merchants downtown will stay open late on Thursdays. Stores staying open until 7 p.m. are 4RKids’ The 2nd Story gift shop, A to Z Carpet, B Hip Kids, Bargain Bin, C.M.
