ENID, Okla. —
Students at all Enid elementary schools participated in a poster contest honoring veterans.
The contest, sponsored by Woodring Wall of Honor, was held for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. Winning posters and artists were honored Sunday at Convention Hall. First-, second- and third-place awards were presented in three categories.
First-place students in each category earned a $50 gift certificate for their classrooms. Each individual student placing in the top three received gift certificates, ribbons and certificates of appreciation.
Posters were judged by Blue Star Mothers of Enid. All posters will be on display throughout November in Oakwood Mall near the Enid Art Association showroom.
Winners were:
• Kindergarten and first grade — first, Dylan Davis, Coolidge; second, Kobie Green, Hoover; and third, Emily Caffey, Taft.
• Second and third grades — first, Ellie Grace, Glenwood; second, Sara Garcia, Coolidge; and third, Kierra Peters, Glenwood.
• Fourth and fifth grades — first, Abby Miles, Adams; second, Gabi Cotarelo, Glenwood; and third, Lisbeth Vargas, Taft.
