The Irene Stone Scholarship given by Garfield County Retired Educators will be awarded to a student attending Northern Oklahoma College Enid during the 2013-14 school year.
The $500 scholarship is for a college freshman or a high school senior from a public school in Garfield County who plans to major in education and will attend NOC Enid. The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of need and academic achievement.
Students must submit an application that asks high school seniors for a high school transcript and college freshmen for a college transcript. It also asks for the names of three references and an essay explaining why the student wants to be an educator.
High school seniors may contact their guidance counselors for application forms. College freshmen may contact the Office of Student Services at NOC Enid. The deadline for applications is April 1.
