ENID, Okla. —
Work beginning today will force the closure of two streets.
Today through Thursday, Maine will be closed from 2nd to 4th. Workers will be repairing the railroad tracks.
Independence from Garriott to Cherokee will be closed today while new sidewalks will be installed.
In addition, the southbound lane of Grand will be closed for three weeks from Cherokee to Park while power lines are being relocated.

Enid schools have procedures, no safe rooms for students
Each Enid Public Schools site has a designated area where students will go in the event of a tornado warning, but there is not any rooms or areas, including two new schools built in the last two years, specifically designed to withstand a large tornado.

Donations being taken for tornado victims
Donations can be made by visiting www.redcross.org or $10 can be donated by texting “REDCROSS” to 90999. The donation will be added to your monthly cell phone bill. Monetary donations are being taken at the Red Cross office, 1023 West Elm, in Enid. A supply drop-off is at 2811 W. Garriott.
