ENID, Okla. —
OG&E Electric Services workers restored power to about 300 customers who lost it near the downtown area early Sunday morning.
John Little, OG&E spokesman, said a three-phase overhead line that feeds off a main feed was twisted so the conductors were wrapped together.
“I’m not sure how that happened. It was a three-phase overhead line, and it caused an outage back to the substation. Usually, the wind is involved in that, but I don’t think there was that much wind this morning,” Little said.
About 300 customers were off about 7:30-10 a.m., when everyone had power restored.
The outage primarily occurred in the downtown area near Washington and Broadway. Enid Fire Department, Garfield County Sheriff’s Office and Enid News & Eagle were among those affected.
About a third of the customers were restored by 8:30 a.m., and within three hours, all 300 were restored, Little said. However, power could not be fully energized along the lines until the cause of the outage was determined.
