ENID — Enid Police Department narcotics detectives arrested two people Friday evening on drug trafficking charges after serving a search warrant at an Enid motel.
Det. Justin Hodges officers arrested and booked Corey Spotwood, 27, and Rinica Sanders, 26, on complaints of felony drug trafficking, possession of marijuana and possession of drug proceeds after serving a search warrant at the Days Inn, 2901 S. Van Buren.
Hodges said an investigation into the distribution of crack cocaine led detectives to the motel.
Officers knocked on the door of one of the rooms about 5:50 p.m. and spoke with Spotwood. Detectives obtained consent to search the room and located a small amount of marijuana, Hodges said. The two were placed under arrest and case agent Det. Mike Evens obtained a search warrant for the room.
K-9 officer Steve Miller and his partner Duco were called to motel and the K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the room. Hodges said detectives found a trafficking weight amount of crack cocaine, which is more than 5 grams, and more than $1,350 cash inside the room.
This is the fifth drug-related search warrant executed by Enid police this week.
