WATONGA, Okla. —
An Indian taco lunch at a Watonga church will raise funds for a family whose home was damaged in a fire a week ago.
Troy and Kristi Magers, and their children, Dillon, Chas and Austin, currently are displaced from their Watonga home after the kitchen sustained major damage and the rest of the house was damaged by smoke.
Troy Magers, a Blaine County Sheriff’s Office deputy, was hospitalized overnight because of smoke inhalation and was off work for a week while he recovered from his injury.
Indian tacos, dessert and drinks will be served 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Watonga. All proceeds will be given to the Magers family to defray medical and reconstruction expenses.
Cost for lunch is $7. Donations also can be mailed to Margarett Parman, Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, 205 N. Burford, Watonga, OK 73772.

Donations being taken for tornado victims
Donations can be made by visiting www.redcross.org or $10 can be donated by texting “REDCROSS” to 90999. The donation will be added to your monthly cell phone bill. Monetary donations are being taken at the Red Cross office, 1023 West Elm, in Enid. A supply drop-off is at 2811 W. Garriott.
