DRUMMOND, Okla. —
An Isabella man was killed late Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle accident west of Drummond.
Justin Christopher Bedwell, 21, was pronounced dead at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center of injuries suffered in the accident, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
The driver of the other vehicle, Robert Joseph Stonehocker, 29, of Drummond, was admitted to St. Mary’s in stable condition with head and trunk injuries, according to the report.
The accident happened at 5:10 p.m. at the intersection of Stabe Road and Skeleton Road.
According to the report, Bedwell was driving a 2001 Pontiac south on Stabe when he was hit on the driver’s side by a 2009 Dodge pickup driven by Stonehocker, who was driving west on Skeleton. According to the report, Stonehocker failed to stop at a stop sign. Bedwell was ejected.
Stonehocker was wearing a seat belt, while Bedwell was not, according to the report.
Bedwell’s Pontiac ended up on its roof in a field southwest of the intersection, and Stonehocker’s pickup was in the south ditch of Skeleton Road.
