ENID — An Enid man is facing three possible life sentences for allegedly selling ecstasy to police informants last summer.
Anthony Lee Solomon Jr., also known as Big A, was arraigned Thursday in Garfield County District Court on two felony counts of trafficking in illegal drugs and one count of distribution of a controlled substance, all after former felony conviction.
Because of four prior felony convictions, Solomon faces six years to life in prison on the distribution charge and life without parole on each trafficking charge.
According to affidavits filed in the cases, Solomon sold ecstasy tablets, also known as MDMA, to police informants.
On June 9, 2009, police arrested another man in possession of 133 pills. The man told police the pills were given to him by Solomon on a “front,” meaning he would repay Solomon for the drugs once he sold them, according to the affidavits.
On July 23, police conducted a controlled buy from Solomon, with the informant giving him an extra $100 for the pills lost in the June arrest, as well as money for 50 ecstasy pills, according to the affidavits. Solomon acknowledged to the informant the money was for the drugs lost in the arrest, according to the affidavit.
Police conducted a third buy of ecstasy pills from Solomon July 2, 2009. In that purchase two informants bought 35 pills of Ecstasy, according to the affidavits.
Solomon is being held in lieu of $330,000 bond and was ordered to return to court March 8 for a bond appearance.
