ENID — Charges have been filed and an arrest warrant issued for a former Enid woman accused of failing to register as a sex offender now residing in another county.
A felony charge of failure to register as a sex offender was filed Tuesday against Traci Lynn Keller, 33. The charges list her address as being in Glencoe. If convicted, she faces up to five years imprisonment and/or a fine of up to $5,000.
According to an affidavit filed in the case, Keller was convicted of first-degree rape Oct. 3, 2005, in Lincoln County, receiving a five-year suspended sentence.
According to an affidavit filed in the case, Keller registered with Enid Police Department Dec. 14, 2005, as a sex offender at the address 1814 E. Park and had registered with the department every 90 days, with the last time being Sept. 11, 2009.
Sgt. Dustin Albright, who is the department’s sex offender compliance officer, followed up on an anonymous tip Keller was not living at the Park address and possibly was living at 1629 W. Maine.
Albright and Detective Bryan Hart visited the Maine address on Sept. 24, 2009, and Keller answered the door. When Albright asked Keller if she knew why he was there, Keller began to cry, according to the affidavit. Keller told Albright she did not know why she didn’t tell him she moved and said she’d been living at the address for about two years, according to the affidavit.
It is noted in the affidavit 1629 W. Maine is located near Maine and Buchanan and McKinley Elementary School is located at 1701 W. Maine. The school’s playground is located on the southeast corner of Maine and Buchanan.
The bond on Keller’s warrant is set at $3,000.
