The Cross Country Junior High and High School teams will participate in a meet at Lake Hefner beginning at 9 a.m. Friday.

The Wildcat football team will host Seiling Friday with game time at 7:30 p.m.

The fifth- through eighth- grade and junior high football teams will host Garber beginning at 5 p.m.Tuesday.

Church
Each Wednesday evening, the youth meet at 6:30 p.m. at Covington United Methodist for all ages. Sponsors are Debbie Hobson, Cindy Bell, Pastor Dane and Shannon Lemmons.

The Church Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Following the council meeting, the Peacemakers Bible Study will meet at 7 p.m. with Pastor Tim Dorsch, Fairmont, leading the Bible study.

A Mexican dinner will be held at noon Sunday at Covington United Methodist Church and is open to the community. Cost is by donation with proceeds going to the Covington United Methodist Women’s missions projects. Following the meal, Pastor Dane Lemmons will show slides from his recent trip to Israel. Some places he will be showing include The Sea of Galilee, Caesarea Philippi, Caesarea by the Sea, Nazareth, Sephoris, Caper-naum, Megiddo, Via DelaRosa (the roads Jesus had to travel carrying the cross), the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, the Garden Tomb, the Garden of Gethsemane, Bethlehem, the Church of the Nativity and many more.
Local Fair
The Wildcat Country Fair was held at Covington-Douglas Aug. 21 and 22.
At the Wildcat Fair an ice cream crank-off contest was held on Aug. 21 with Melanie Steinert winning the People’s Choice Award with her chocolate cookies and cream ice cream.
