Enid News and Eagle

ENID — National Weather Service has issued a freezing fog advisory for Enid and northwest Oklahoma from 9 tonight to noon Sunday.

Areas of fog are expected to develop during the evening hours and become widespread after midnight. Counties in the advisory include Garfield, Grant, Blaine, Alfalfa, Major, Woods and Woodward. Visibility is expected to be less than a half mile, and the dense fog that forms likely will create ice on exposed surfaces and linger Sunday morning.

National Weather Service officials advice caution when drivIng. Northwest Oklahoma roads already are slick from a winter storm that dumped up to 10 inches of ice and snow on Enid.

Otherwise, the Enid forecast calls for skies to be mostly cloudy, a low around 12 and light and variable wind.

Once the fog clears Sunday, skies should be partly sunny, with a high near 34 and a south to southeast wind at 3-7 mph, according to National Weather Service.

Monday calls for a 20 percent chance of freezing drizzle before noon, then a slight chance of rain. The high for Enid will reach in the upper-30s.
