ENID — Home-based businesses offer entrepreneurs a chance to earn money from home, and a newly created business expo Saturday will highlight some of Enid’s home-based businesses.
“From Our Home to Your Home,” the first home-based business expo, will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Enid Symphony Center, 301 W. Broadway.
The event is organized as a way for shoppers to see unique or niche items that are offered in Enid from people working out of their home.
“Home-based business is a growing trend,” said Cathy Nulph, promotions director for Etown Magazine and Eagle Marketing, which are sponsoring the home-based business expo, along with StarTek and Autry Technology Center.
“It is a low-cost, low-risk way of owning your own business, and there is usually a support system with most home-based businesses,” she said. “There are a number of resources available to help build a business.”
Items available at this first venture range from children’s items to jewelry, to chocolates to makeup and kitchen accessories.
Vendors include Cookie Lee Jewelry, Arbonne, CK Photography, Mary Kay Cosmetics, Pampered Chef, Celebrating Home, Faith Friend T-shirts, Silpada Designs, Cakes by Diane, Tres Sucre Chocolatiere, Homemade Gourmet, Hiabachi Entertainment and Just Between Friends.
Frank Baker, director of Eagle Marketing, said this first home-based business expo is a marketing initiative aimed at helping home-based business owners get mass exposure for their products.
“We want to spotlight some of the entrepreneurs in the Enid area who are building non-traditional style businesses out of their home.”
There is no admission charge. Also, The Divas from KGWA Radio will do a live remote 10 a.m. to noon.
