In response to the letter to the Editor dated 11/25/05, we would like to take this opportunity to say that "we're proud to serve a customer base which represents a true cross-section of America. Sears and Kmart appreciate the many holiday traditions that are celebrated by our customers during this time of year. As in past holiday seasons, we are dedicated to making our stores as comfortable, inviting and inclusive as possible during this special season. Since we serve customers from all walks of life, we endeavor to make our stores festive, while respecting that our customers celebrate many different customs throughout the holidays. In recognition of that diversity, we believe it would be inappropriate for us to prohibit the use of generally accepted holiday greetings or phrases such as "Merry Christmas." This has been our long-standing practice that we have found acceptable to our customers over the years." Thank you for your continued support of our store.
