Texarkana, Texas, got strong pitching and a pair of home runs to advance in the winner’s bracket of the Mid-South Regional with a convincing 12-3 victory over Omaha.
Michael Wacha pitched eight strong innings, scattering seven hits with two walks. Wacha, who has signed with Texas A&M;, struck out six and never was in any significant trouble.
Shortstop John Stilson smacked a three-run homer and Hunter Allday added a pinch-hit solo homer to highlight the Indians’ 15-hit attack.
Kendrick Henderson had three hits and drove in two runs. John Phillips also had three hits.
Brett Bass and Alex Miller each had two hits for Omaha, which will play Hattiesburg (Miss.) at 11 a.m. today in an elimination game.
