Simunek, 94

Emil F. Simunek will celebrate his 94th birthday Saturday, Dec. 8. Cards may be sent to 1119 E. Garriott, Enid, OK 73701.

Emil was born Dec. 8, 1918, the son of Frank and Mollie Simunek.

He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Bison.

He married the late Emma Navratil Oct. 10, 1940.

He started his career in construction as a young man, working for Enid elevators and Vance Runway Lighting. He has spent most of his career as a farmer and builder. He is a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Bison.

His children are Gerald Simunek and his companion Barbara Jolly, and Jeannette Fletcher and husband David, all of Enid. He has five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.



Holmes, 80

Mary Joy Zaloudek Holmes will celebrate her 80th birthday with a reception for family and friends Sunday.

Mary Joy was born Dec. 9, 1932, near Kremlin, the daughter of Clyde and Maxine Zaloudek.

She is a graduate of Enid High School.

She worked for Dr. A.W. Janzen for many years before moving to Irving, Texas.

Following her retirement, she moved to Stillwater.

She has one daughter, Dell Livsey of Stillwater.
