Reunions for 7/25/09
Rexroat
The 76th annual Rexroat family reunion was held July 18-19 at Heritage Manor in Aline with A.J. and Carolyn Rexroat hosting.
The first reunion was held in 1933 in Helena at the home of A.J.’s grandfather, Press Rexroat.
Those attending from out-of-state were James and Donna Rexroat of Leesburg, Fla., Sandra and Phil Rexroat of Kingsville, Texas, Ray and Jody Rexroat of Newton, Kan., and Brand Hinton of Bartlett, Tenn.
Recognition went to Modena Rexroat Sawyer, 92, for being the oldest present; Branden Hinton for being the youngest; and James and Donna Rexroat of Leesburg, Fla., for traveling the farthest.
The next reunion will be held in July 2010 at the same place.
Fuxa
Ninety-one descendants of the Vaclav Fuxa and Antonia Hladik-Fuxa family attended the reunion held July 19 at St. Joseph Hall, Bison. The Mary Fuxa-Kokojan families, Cynthia Williams, Liz Zaloudek, Joanna Hau and Carmen Schultz hosted the event.
Recognition went to Avalon Schroeder, 6 months old, for being the youngest present; Marie Fuxa-Semrad, 93, for the oldest; the Aaron Schroeder family of Wichita, Kan., for traveling the farthest; married the longest were Marie and Ernest T. Semrad with 71 years; and newlyweds were Aaron and Amy Schroeder, of Wichita, Kan., who have been married for two years.
The next reunion will be July 24, 2011, at Bison Parish Hall, Bison, with the families of Method (Antonia Maly) Fuksa hosting.
Holden
The 2009 Holden family reunion was held July 18 in Wakita. Thirty-seven people attended. Hosts Larry and Cheryl Shafer and Sherrie Holden used an old-fashioned school theme to get relatives interested in the family history.
The Homer H. Holden family had the most members present. Louise Schmitz was the oldest at age 78 and Aidan Smith was the youngest. Beth Anne Schmitz of Windsor Heights, Iowa, traveled the farthest to attend.
John and Deborah Holden will host the 2010 reunion.
