I would like to recognize the following people and organizations for their generous support in making the recently dedicated Enabling Garden at Hope Outreach Faith Farm a reality: The Bert Mackie family, First United Methodist Church Missions Team, Junior Welfare League, Joan Allen, Enid Concrete, Hoe and Grow Garden Club, Emmanuel Baptist Church Women on Mission, Luckinbill Sheet Metal Shop, Rick Lorenz, Smith’s Greenhouse, Diane and Garry Tretbar.
Resurfacing the 2,000 square feet of paths was a major undertaking and had to be done one wheelbarrow at a time. The help we received from the DOC Pre Release Center Volunteers was so appreciated. Many helped prepare the garden for the dedication ceremony. Among them were Teresa Boeckman, Jennifer Morash, Becca Duke, Amina Switzer, Hannah Esquibel, Jacob Slayter and Willa Bluesky. Billie Thompson, The Art Department Signs, finished our new signage in record time and had them installed for the big day. A special thanks to Hope Outreach Board of Directors president Barbara Erwin for her welcome and the Rev. David Wiggs for his prayer of dedication. Those helping with refreshments were Shala Miller, Teresa Boeckman, Barbara Anderson, Ruth Dobbs, Wendy Langshaw, Becca Duke, Colita Murray, January McCall and Wagon Creek Creamery. I would also like to thank the Enid News and Eagle for their wonderful coverage of this new ministry at Hope Outreach. Working together we can all make our community a better place to live.
