Scott, 80
Darrell Scott will celebrate his 80th birthday today.
He was born Oct. 29, 1929, and grew up on a farm east of Marlow.
He graduated from Bray High School in 1947.
After graduation, he moved to Enid, where he worked for the Ford dealership Parkinson Neal, which became Day Ford, for 43 years.
He married LaVern Farris Dec. 24, 1948.
He has been a hunter and trap shooter since 1976. He was elected director of Oklahoma Trapshooting Association in 1980 and inducted into Oklahoma Trapshooting Hall of Fame in 1987. He has won more than 150 trophies through the years for trapshooting and was recognized in July at Oklahoma Trapshooting Association gun range in El Reno for shooting his 100,000th target.
He helped start Elks Gun Club in Enid and has been responsible for the 4-H youth trapshooting program in the Enid area for many years.
His children are Sandra and Glen Carson, Garber, and the late Gary Lynn Scott. He has one grandson, who happens to share his birthdate and love of hunting.
