Bet Thurman will celebrate her 80th birthday with a reception for family and friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday at F.W. Zaloudek Comm-unity Building, Kremlin. Cards may be sent to Box 77, Kremlin, OK 73753.
She was born Oct. 16, 1929, in Medford the daughter of Ben and Willie Guffey.
She graduated from Kremlin High School in 1947.
She married E.J. Thurman Oct., 13, 1950. She worked four years for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., seven years for F.W. Zaloudek Store and Grain and retired from Central National Bank as a customer service officer after 25 years. She is a member of Kremlin United Methodist Church.
Her children are Dennis and Pat Thurman, Caldwell, Kan.; Ann Fossett, Enid; and B.J. Thurman, Rolla, Kan. She has eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
