Ground Hog Supper Saturday at Lahoma church

Hosted since 1941, the Men’s Club at Zion Lutheran Church of Lahoma will hold its annual Ground Hog Supper 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday at the church, located west of Lahoma.



Building healthy marriages workshop in Ames

Ames Church of Christ will host a marriage workshop titled “Building Healthy Marriages” Feb. 8-10, at the Ames Civic Center. Workshop times are 7-9 p.m. Friday; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday with lunch provided; and 9-11 a.m. Sunday.

Dr. Bob Whiddon, executive director of Northwest Marriage Institute, Vancouver, Wash., is featured speaker. He has been involved in counseling and marriage education for nearly 35 years. He has earned two doctorate degrees in counseling and ministry, is a licensed clinical pastoral counselor and a certified temperament counselor.

The workshop offers practical advice mixed with humor, and includes a free copy of his book for each attending family unit.
