Author to speak Sunday at Emmanuel

ENID, Okla. — Teens are going through some of the hardest times in history, and one of the biggest issues they face is the feeling of being alone.

Social networking like Facebook and Twitter facilitate an abundance of shallow relationships, but are limited in facilitating meaningful relationships, said Colorado author Andy Braner.

Braner’s book, “Alone: Finding Connections in a Lonely World” tackles the universal desire we have to belong.

He will speak at 9:45 a.m. Sunday at Emmanuel Baptist Church Youth Center. He will speak to parents, youth leaders, teachers and others in the community about his book and the loneliness teens face. He will cover topics such as isolation, addiction, shallow relationships and the patterns we often fall into when we long to fit in. He teaches how to develop meaningful relationships and to depend on God.

Admission is free, and the event is open to everyone.

Braner is an author of four books and speaks to more than 100,000 students every year.  ᄑ
