Nazarene church set

to celebrate 60 years



Enid Maine Church of the Nazarene, 16th and Maine, celebrates its 60th anniversary Sunday.

During the worship service at 10:45 a.m., former pastor L. Harold Blankenship will speak. Blankenship served from 1956 to 1961. Glorybound Singers, which features former music leader Randy Yount, will perform.

Lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m., followed by a second worship service at 2 p.m. Former pastor Loran L. Forbes, who served from 1975 to 1978, will speak and Glorybound Singers will perform again.



CWU to meet Sunday



Church Women United of Garfield County will present the worship service “Seeking Shalom” at 3 p.m. Sunday at Puritan Congregation United Church of Christ, Drummond. Paula Nightengale and Rev. Susan Southall both will be honored for their community service. Call 234-2944.



Presbyterian church

to offer Financial Peace



Financial Peace University, a 13-week program by financial guru Dave Ramsey, will be presented at First Presbyterian Church, 502 W. Maine, starting Sunday. Classes will be held at 9 a.m. Call Stephen Pippel at 402-4647 or e-mail him at stephenpip pel@earthlink.net to register.

The program, based on Ramsey’s “Total Money Makeover,” teaches families and individuals how to handle their money through common sense principles and small group accountability.



Chick to be honored Sunday

for 45 years of service



Pastor T.A. Chick will be honored by Bible Baptist Church Sunday for 45 years of ministry at the church.

There will be special services at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. with a reception and dinner following the evening service.

He was called to pastor the congregation at 11th and Maple in September 1964. He and his wife had been serving in Okmulgee at the time.

Among his accomplishments as their leader, Chick helped the church add a new sanctuary in 1974 and a family center in 1997.
