Thompson, 85

He was born Aug. 2, 1924, in Jet the son of William and Reta Thompson.
He married Edna Gunning April 18, 1948. She died May 8, 2007.
He has worked as a tile setter and a custodian and carpenter for Enid Public Schools. He is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
His children are Sonja and John Slavin, Enid, and Kay and James Gardner, Dover. He has two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Campbell, 90
Kendall Campbell will celebrate his 90th birthday Thursday with family in Red River, N.M. Cards may be sent to 3519 Wesley Lane, Enid, OK 73703.
He was born Aug. 6, 1919, southwest of Hunter the son of Wilbur and Mae Campbell.
He graduated from Hunter High School and attended a welding school in Wichita, Kan. In 1941, he enlisted in the 45th Division, serving in Africa, Sicily and Italy, until he was injured and medically discharged in 1944. He married Phillis Young in 1942.
Following his discharge he worked as secretary for Garfield County commissioners until 1947, when he and his family moved to a farm northwest of Hunter. In 1955, he was appointed postmaster at Hunter, retiring in 1979.
His children are Jerry Campbell, Lenexa, Kan.; Ann Pope, Woodward; Sue Buhler, Pratt, Kan.; and Cindy Irwin, Borger, Texas. He has nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
