Jeter, 90

David D. Jeter will celebrate his 90th birthday with a come-and-go reception for family and friends 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the Civitan Homes. Cards may be sent to 4010 Bunker Hill, Enid, OK 73703.

David was born Dec. 14, 1922, in Mount Crest, Ark., the son of John and Callie Jeter.

He had been married to Emily Milacek for 24 years at her passing in 1979. He later married Lavana Martin in 1981.

He worked at the U.S. Post Office in Enid for 27 years. He served with the Army 1948-1952, and the National Guard 1952-1970.

He enjoys playing the mandolin and guitar locally and writing music. He is a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Cowboy Church.

His children are Jeanne Wildrix, Fairview, and Joanne Seidl, Kathy Pearson and Mary Jantz, all of Enid. He has eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.



McCormick, 80

Jessie McCormick will celebrate her 80th birthday with a reception for family and friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday. Cards may be sent to P.O. Box 68, Nash, OK 73761.

Jessie was born Dec. 10, 1932, in Nash, the daughter of Lloyd and Beatrice Mills.

She is a 1951 graduate of Gore Consolidated No. 1 School.

She married Cloyde Dale McCormick Aug. 19, 1953.

Jessie worked 15 years as a school bus driver for Jet-Nash Public Schools, three years as counter help for Nash Equity Exchange, delivered the Enid News & Eagle and Daily Oklahoman for 22 years and has had a successful cake business known as Jessie’s Cakes since 1979.

She is a member of Nash Christian Church, Home Demonstration Club and Nash Lions Club.

Her children are Nyla Wilton and husband Cory, Claremore; Sharon Ledbetter and husband Mark, Wylie, Texas; Rickey McCormick, Nash; and Dwayne McCormick and wife Melinda, Ponca City. She has five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.Jeter, 90
