ENID — The Enid chapters of Beta Sigma Phi are hosting their Valentine dance Saturday, and they will honor four chapter queens as part of the event.
The honorees are Retha Wegmiller, Xi Delta Kappa; Janet Byrum, Preceptor Psi; Connie Johndrow, Laureate Omega; and Dorene Tonsfeldt, of Pi Master.
Janet Byrum has been active in Beta Sigma Phi for more than 25 years. She is the current president of Preceptor Psi. She is active in church and enjoys her time with her granddaughter, son and daughter-in-law, fiance and friends.
She is a member of the United Way Board and helps with other fundraising activities, such a Relay for Life, Sitting Pretty/Standing Tall and the annual YWCA Christmas Wrap. She is the manager of people services and benefits for Advance Food Co.
Dorene Tondsfeldt joined Beta Sigma Phi in Fremont, Neb. and transferred to an Enid chapter in 1978. She has held many offices it he chapters of which she has been a member. She retired a few years ago after working for 24 years at First Presbyterian Chur-ch.
Since retiring she spends her time volunteering, playing bridge, participating in PEO and Eastern Star and enjoying her hobbies of knitting, reading and traveling. She was married to Virgil Tonsfeldt, who is deceased, and has two children, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Connie Johndrow joined Beta Sigma Phi in 1987 and has held many offices. She is serving her fifth year as treasurer of her chapter. She has been the chairman for the social committee, ways and means, service, scrapbook, program and yearbook and has received the Order of the Rose.
She and her husband, Richard, have been married 38 years. They own Johndrow’s Pest Control, Inc. She is secretary and bookkeeper for the company.
They have one son and will welcome a new daughter-in-law in March. She enjoys gardening, motorcycle riding, boating and spending time at the lake cabin.
Retha Wegmiller has been a member in Beta Sigma Phi for more than 25 years, holding many offices and committee chairs. She says the best part of membership is the close friendship she has with her sorority sisters.
She enjoys creating recipes for her business, Angel Delight Catering and Team Room.
She has one son. Other interests include traveling and spending time with family and friends.
