Final Update: Power still out across much of Enid, Garfield County

OG&E Electric Services was still reporting a large number of power outages across Garfield County at 2:00 a.m. due to the winter storm, with the heavy, wet snow weighing power lines and trees.

Enid now has 20,943 customers without power, with 94 out in Bison, 101 in Carrier, 81 in Douglas, 335 in Drummond,  73 in Garber, 290 in Kremlin, 75 in Lahoma and 278 in Waukomis. Power had been restored in both Hillsdale and Fairmont

Kremlin Fire Department was dispatched to a fire at the OG&E substation west of Kremlin earlier in the evening, and lines were reported down earlier in the evening on Oakwood Road between Enid and Waukomis.

Also, at about 11:30 p.m., Waukomis Fire Department reported U.S. 81 north and southbound lanes were closed north of Waukomis at Hayward Road due to power lines down on the highway.

Other northwest Oklahoma towns either wholly or partly affected by power outages included Alva, Billings, Avard, Canton, Chester, Cleo Springs, Dover, Hennessey, Hopeton, Jet, Marshall, Medford, Meno, Ringwood, Seiling and Watonga. In the past hour, power has been lost in Red Rock and Deer Creek as well.

Statewide, OG&E reported power outages climbing to 32,697 customers, including large areas of northwest Oklahoma.

Radar was showing areas of snow diminishing in north-central Oklahoma, and winds were increasing, as the storm system's center was located on the Oklahoma-Arkansas line near Fort Smith and moving to the northeast away from the state.

This will be the final update tonight.
