Feastin’ & Fiddlin’

7-11 Tonight

Oakwood Mall

Barbecue and music will fill the old Sugar Rush location in Oakwood Mall tonight at Enid Arts Council’s Feastin’ & Fiddlin’.

Oklahoma’s own Byron Berline and his band will begin playing at 7, while a barbecue spread with all the fixings will be provided.

Seven Oklahoma artists have designed seven fiddles, which will be auctioned off throughout the evening. Artists that have designed fiddles include Harold Holden, Dan Long, Byron Test, J.J. Lee, Laura Humphrey, Eldon Ames and Ron Licklider.

Focus: First Friday and Free Art Friday

6-9 p.m. March 1

Throughout downtown Enid

First Friday returns March 1 in downtown Enid, with businesses open late hours and musical acts performing in downtown establishments.

Events and music include: live music by JT and The Breeze in the downtown breezeway; live music by Steven Harwood and Amy Swanner at the gazebo on the courthouse lawn, 6:30-8; grand reopening of The Felt Bird at 124 S. Independence, complete with live music by Heath DeAngelo Nieves and refreshments; live music by Those Guys and cupcakes from The Queen of Cakes at Soapweeds & Cactus, 122 N. Independence; live music by Greg Stong and a display of Jena Kodesh’s art at Creative Arts Enid, 217 N. Washington; mashed potato bar, complete with gravies, meats and toppings, and a soup bar with breads and crackers at Angel Delight Bakery and Eatery, 417 S. Washington; open house for Return Engagement on their new location on Grand; and Mad Hatter tea at Lola’s Boutique, 224 W. Randolph, where you can dress as your favorite character and enjoy cupcakes made by The Queen of Cakes.

Also, March 1 is Free Art Friday, presented by Art Lab Enid, 2091⁄2 S. Independence. Local artists have designed small panels of wood as paintings, jewelry displays and other items. They will be placed around downtown Enid on First Friday, and the first person to find the artwork will be able to take it home for free. A gallery of the pieces can be found at artlabenid.com, and they currently are on display at Enid Welcome Center, 123 W. Maine.
