UPDATE: NWS forecasting 6-9 inches of snow for Enid

ENID, Okla. — The situation continues to develop, but one thing is certain: Snow is in the forecast today for Enid.

The latest National Weather Service projections have Enid and a large part of northwest Oklahoma in a band to receive 6-9 inches of snow. Northern parts of Woods, Alfalfa and Grant counties, as well as areas to the south and east of Enid, may receive 4-6 inches of snow.

Areas of the state southeast of a line from Oklahoma City to Altus could get 1-4 inches.

Garfield County, as well as Kay, Noble, Logan, Payne, Caddo, Canadian, Oklahoma, Lincoln, Grady, McClain, Cleveland, Kiowa, Jackson, Comanche and Hardeman counties, were in a winter storm watch as of press time Monday.

Counties in a winter storm warning included Ellis, Woodward, Major, Roger Mills, Dewey, Custer, Blaine, Beckham and Washita.

Harper, Woods and Alfalfa counties were in a winter weather advisory.

NWS said snow accumulations may result in slick and hazardous roads in those areas. Snow was expected to develop late Monday and spread east across the area today.
