Mud slows progress restoring power

ENID, Okla. — Muddy roads have slowed the progress on restoring all power to rural areas served by OG&E Electric Services following Monday’s blizzard, but District Manager John Little said Saturday good progress is being made.

“We’re making progress on getting power back on for everyone, but county roads in the area have a whole lot of muck and mud, so it’s slowed us down a bit,” Little said.

“The plan is by tomorrow (Sunday) to have the majority of our rural customers back on. It’s taking a little more time than we had anticipated.”

Little urged anyone who still does not have electricity to call the statewide outage line, (800) 522-6870, even if they have called previously.

“We want you to call every day if you still don’t have power,” he said.

At 8 p.m. Saturday, 385 customers in Enid still were without power. In addition, about 640 customers in rural areas of Drummond, Imo, Lahoma and Waukomis still were without power.
