Events to GET OUT for this weekend 11/13/09

Holiday Marketplace 2009

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday

Chisholm Trail Expo Center



Officers’ Spouses’ Club from Vance Air Force Base will host the 2009 Holiday Marketplace with more than 100 vendors.

Items will include unique crafts, candles, pottery, children’s books, holiday decorations, local dairy products, local wine, soaps, nuts, jewelry and baked goods. Children can give Santa Claus their Christmas list and have their pictures taken 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The event is the Officers’ Spouses’ Club annual fundraiser. Admission is free.





Concert

Plummer Family Country Music Show

7:30 p.m. today

Chisholm High School auditorium



Down-home country music in a family atmosphere is the hallmark of the Plummer Family Country Music Show out of Branson.

Enid Shrine Club is presenting the concert. Tickets in advance are $5 for students ages 7-15 and $12.50 for adults. Tickets at the door are $5 for students and $15 for adults. Groups of 12 or more adults are $10 each.

58th annual Fairview Fly-in

Events begin at 7 a.m., with air show at 1 p.m., Saturday

Fairview



Airplane enthusiasts will have plenty to keep them entertained Saturday when Fairview hosts its 58th annual fly-in and air show.

The event takes place at Davey and Bessie Martens Airport in Fairview.

Breakfast will be available 7-10 a.m. for all who fly in. There will be a veterans’ ceremony at 10:45 a.m. and lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The air show will start 1 p.m. Antique, experimental, warbirds and classic aircraft will be on display during the show.

The event is sponsored by Fairview Flight Club, Inc.

An added event is the Fairview Regional Medical Center “Run for Your Life” 5 K run. The starting line is located at Central with registration at Life Fitness Center at Central and Main. Start time is 9:30 a.m. A one-mile fun run/walk will start just after the 5K run starts. Runners may register through today at www.fairviewhospital.net or on race day beginning at 8 a.m.
