Need something to swoon your sweetheart?
“Our concert this month celebrates the magic of romance,” said Enid Symphony Orchestra director Doug Newell. The concert is 8 p.m. Feb. 10 and 2 p.m. Feb. 11 at Enid Symphony Hall, 301 W. Broadway. Seating is limited, but individual tickets for $30 are still available. Call 237-9646.
The first half of the show features the orchestra’s renditions of “You Do Something To Me,” “Body and Soul,” “Someone To Watch Over Me,” “As Time Goes By,” “I Left My Heart In San Francisco,” and highlights from the Broadway musical “Wicked.”
Robert Bonfiglio, considered “the Paganini of the harmonica,” will join the orchestra during the second half of the show. He will dazzle the audience as he slides from harmonica concertos to contemporary tunes. Bonfiglio is best known for his Elvis medley, which includes “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Love Me Tender,” “Are You Lonely Tonight” and more.
“Remember the date, bring a date and listen to us pull out all of the stops,” Newell said. The concert is sponsored by Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, Enid Symphony Auxiliary and Oklahoma Arts Council.
Need to take your date out to dinner before the show?
ESO is offering a Prelude Dinner at 6 p.m. Feb. 10 in the Theater Ballroom at Enid Symphony Center. The menu by caterer Cathy Frantz is beef tenderloin, roasted potatoes and chocolate mousse. Complementary wine will be served with the dinner. Tickets are $25 per person; call in your reservations at 237-9646 no later than Wednesday.
