Gaslight Teens ‘It Runs in the Family’

Gaslight Teens will present “It Runs in the Family” this weekend.

The plot of this year’s play involves mistaken identities, mis-timing and physical humor.

Director Tricia Chambers and assistant director Jonathan Chambers have put together a cast of young actors including Alan Tarrin, Eddie Lima, Natalie Rapp, Travis DeWall, Katelyn Moore, Erica Taylor, Ivey Dyson, Makenna Mittelstet, Brandon Buck and Cheyenne Adams.

Downtown businesses sponsor First Friday on the first Friday evening of each month.

Local and area musicians will perform free entertainment at shops, restaurants and galleries.

‘Peter and the Wolf’

8 p.m. Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday

Enid Symphony Hall



The children’s symphony “Peter and the Wolf” will be performed by Enid Symphony Orchestra, with Enid Public Schools’ Superintendent Shawn Hime as narrator.

The event also will feature Italian pianist Mariangela Vacatello. Vacatello was named audience favorite at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition last year.

   A second work Saturday and Sunday will feature Vacatello playing “Piano Concerto No. 3” by Prokofiev. Vacatello was a finalist in the grueling 10-day Van Cliburn competition, which is held every four years and is sponsored by the Van Cliburn Foundation. Each contestant plays two recitals and two concertos with orchestra.

Sumner Winter Roundup bull riding

8 p.m. Saturday

Chisholm Trail Expo Center Pavilion



Bull riding enthusiasts will see some quality entertainment at the Sumner Winter Roundup to be held in Enid.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and the bulls start at 8 p.m. The event will include bull riding, novice bull riding, bareback riding and saddle bronc riding.

Additional dates for the winter roundup are Feb. 13, March 13 and March 20.
