Tops in Blue

6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25

Chisholm Trail Expo Center

 

Tops in Blue is bringing its show, “Rhythm Nation,” to the Chisholm Trail Expo Center this Thursday. Tops in Blue is an all-active duty U.S. Air Force special unit made up of amateur performers who are selected for their entertainment abilities. Thousands compete each year to be in the group, and only 35 are selected to be in the performance. The group travels around the world, performing more than 140 shows in 20 different countries. The mission of Tops in Blue is to provide entertainment by the Air Force to Air Force families.

“Rhythm Nation” will include music from a variety of different artists, including Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday, Little Richard, Jerry Lee Lewis and J-Lo.

The concert is free. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the show starts at 6:30 p.m.

Leonardo’s Discovery Warehouse

Leonardo’s Discovery Warehouse and Adventure Quest is a hands-on science museum for children of all ages. The museum houses many different exhibits including an art center, a fire safety center and a carpenter shop. Children can also explore Adventure Quest, the museum’s outdoor science park. Movie Night at the Ballpark

8:30 p.m. Tonight

David Allen Memorial Ballpark

 

Get out of the house and head to the ballpark tonight to see “True Grit” played on the stadium’s big screen. Admission is a donation to the Jayla Alexis Tuck Cancer Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to enhance the quality of life for local children with cancer as well as their families by providing financial assistance and increasing public awareness. Trail Tales

9:30 a.m. Saturday

Downtown Enid

 

Colorful and sometimes controversial history of downtown Enid comes alive the third Saturday of every month through October. The tours are hosted by Chisholm Trail Coalition, an organization dedicated to preserving Enid’s history. Reservations are required for anyone who would like to go on the tour. Call 242-2233 to make reservations. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children.
