Stage is set for local theater in February

ENID — There’s a whole lot of theater going on in February as Gaslight Theatre gets busy with traditional productions in the works.

Gaslight Teens will present “It Runs in the Family” Feb. 5-7.

The plot of this year’s play involves mistaken identities, mis-timing and physical humor.

Director Tricia Chambers and assistant director Jonathan Chambers have put together a cast of young actors including Alan Tarrin, Eddie Lima, Natalie Rapp, Travis DeWall, Katelyn Moore, Erica Taylor, Ivey Dyson, Makenna Mittelstet, Brandon Buck and Cheyenne Adams.

And, later in February, get ready to round up a group of friends and enjoy the annual Gaslight dinner theater production at Enid Symphony Center.

The play, “Are We There Yet,” is being directed by Teri Galer and is the first musical for dinner theater produced this season.

Reservations must be made at least a week in advance for this production. Dates for the dinner theater are Feb. 12-13 and Feb. 19-20. Dinner will be catered by Panevino and will consist of beef stroganoff the first weekend and margarita chicken the second weekend.

Gaslight also needs dinner theater wait staff volunteers. The waiters serve food, keep glasses full and clear the tables.

Volunteers can call the box office 234-2307 or e-mail Carmen Ball at gaslightcarmen@yahoo.com.

Then, at the end of month, Gaslight will produce the second annual children’s theater production. This year’s show is “Jack and the Beanstalk.” Performance dates are  Feb. 27-28 and March 6-7.

To reserve tickets for any of the February productions, call the box office. Hours are 2-5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.
