POND CREEK —
Maxine Iola Chaney Ingham Gritz, 96, of Pond Creek, OK, passed away at 6:39 a.m. Thursday, November 29, 2012, at her granddaughter’s home in Pflugerville, TX.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2012, in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid. Arrangements are under direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
Maxine was the first of three children born June 10, 1916, near Hunter, OK, to Roscoe C. and Agnes M. (Cogswell) Chaney.
She married Walter Glen Ingham of Hunter, OK, on October 25, 1934, in Enid, OK. To them were born three children, Dixie Lee Ingham Shelton, Gary Glenwood Ingham and Fredrick Conklin Ingham. Maxine and Glen were married until his death on June 30, 1959.
Maxine later married Carl Irwin “Pete” Gritz, who was the postmaster of Pond Creek, OK, on December 5, 1979. They remained married until his death on November 30, 1986.
Maxine owned and operated a Dairy Queen restaurant for 15 years in Enid, OK. She enjoyed decorating, sewing, making flower arrangements and keeping her home immaculate. She loved the simple pleasures in life of spending time with friends and family and was known for giving great hugs.
Although she suffered with dementia in her final years, she was an inspiration of grace and fortitude, living life fully to the very end.
She truly lived up to the meaning of her name, Little Big One, and leaves a legacy of kindness and acceptance of all people and circumstances without judgment.
Maxine is survived by her three children, her 10 grandchildren (Cynthia Lee Shelton, Heidi Dawn Shelton Oliver, Steve, Brad Scott, William Greg, Wesley Garrett, Terry Miller, Brian Miller, Fredrick Ingham Jr. and Bonnie Ingham Stewart) 12 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Agnes Chaney; sister, Bonnie Gritz; and brother Maurice Chaney.

Marlene Elaine Davis
Graveside service for Mrs. Marlene Elaine Davis, 79, of Lahoma, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013, in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Lahoma, with Pastor Eric Brown officiating under the kind guidance of Stittsworth Funeral Service.
She was born in Lahoma on Nov. 12, 1933, to Gilbert and Elna (Holz) Moehle and passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2013, in Enid.
As a child, Marlene was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lahoma.
After completing the Lutheran school, Marlene graduated from Lahoma High School and attended nursing school at Bass Hospital in Enid.
She married Donald Davis. -

Thomas Ross Owens

Thomas was born March 17, 1942, in Muldrow, Okla., to James and Nezzie Carter Owens and died Saturday, May 18, 2013, in Enid.
Surviving are son, Thomas Owens Jr. of Enid; daughters, Carole Ford of Red Bluff, Calif., Kristi Patricio of Sonora, Calif., and Irene Owens of Shawnee; seven grandchildren; and his siblings. -
Mary (Ball) Boren
Funeral service for Mary Boren, 56, formerly of Waynoka, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at Elm Grove Community Church, with Pastor Orville White officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery, directed by Redinger Funeral Home, Seiling.
She died Monday, May 20, 2013, at Midwest City Regional Hospital. -

Preceded by husband, Ben, and one sister.
Surviving are children, Becky Butler, Ben Brandt Jr., Beverly Graham and Beth Pershall; brothers, Jewett Scott Jr.; sisters, Judy Smith and Jill Talley; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. -
Charlie Lee Leedom Porter
Funeral for Charlie Porter, 85, of Fay, Okla., will be 10 a.m. today, May 21, 2013, at the Methodist Church in Fay. Burial in Liberty Cemetery, Fay. Arrangements by Wilkinson Mortuary, Watonga.
Charlie was born Dec. 26, 1927, near Hinton, Okla., to A.W. and Edna Hamilton Leedom and died Friday, May 17, 2013.
She married John Henry Porter in March 1948.
