HOLLYWOOD, CA — Terry Schafnitt, 65, passed away peacefully January 25, 2013, in Hollywood, California. He was born February 4, 1947, in Enid, the son of Charles Eugene and Vera Haynes Schafnitt.

Terry grew up in Enid, graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1965. He then served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was in the Merchant Marines, serving during Desert Storm.

Terry wrote songs, and music was his passion.

Terry is survived by his mother, Vera of Yukon, Oklahoma; two sons, Stephen Schafnitt and Charles D. Schafnitt; two sisters, Patsy Thomas and Kathleen Benfield; and one brother, Michael Schafnitt.
