ENID — Col. Dale Lee Norman (USAF Ret.) slipped the surly bonds of Earth and put out his hand to touch the face of God on Tuesday, Jan 1, 2013, in McQueeney, Texas. He was born Aug. 27, 1935, in Moore, Okla., to Buhl and Elva Norman.

On March 8, 1965, he married Patricia Thurman Haskins in Enid, Okla., while he was stationed at Vance Air Force Base.

He graduated from the University of Oklahoma and was a decorated Air Force pilot, proudly serving our country for 26 years.

After retiring, he started guide fishing with one of his best friends on Choke Canyon and his beloved Lake McQueeney, which he called home.

He is survived by Patricia; three children, Kimberly and Gary Dice, John and Delores Haskins and Michelle and Morgan Norris, and six grandchildren, all from the San Antonio, Texas, area; and one brother, Earl and Pat Norman.

Celebration of his life was Jan. 4, 2013, in Schertz, Texas. Burial with full military honors was held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas, Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013.
