ENID, Okla. —
A celebration of life service for Dr. Coeta Grimes Evans will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at First Baptist Church, with Dr. Greg Hook and Mike Taylor officiating. Interment will be prior to the service in Alva Municipal Cemetery, under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home, Alva. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
Dr. Coeta Grimes Evans, daughter of the late Mertle (Hulett) Grimes/Gastineau and Crayton Grimes was born Sept. 8, 1927, in Lenora, Okla., and passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, in Woodward, Okla., at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 9 days.
Coeta graduated from Lenora Elementary School and Taloga High School. She received higher education degrees from Oklahoma College for Women; Master of Arts from Phillips University; and Doctorate of Education Degree from Oklahoma State University. She also studied Grenoble University in Grenoble, France, and the University of Clermont-Ferrand in Vichy, France, in courses of history, foods, French and art.
She married Earl Evans April 27, 1950, in Newkirk.
She taught high school science, French and home economics in Garfield, Grant and Kingfisher County schools, concluding her teaching career at Northwestern Oklahoma State University, culminating 30 years of teaching and retiring as chair of the Home Economics Department and Emeritus Professor in 1990.
She was baptized in the Baptist faith and was a current member of First Baptist Church, Alva. She was a member of Cherokee Outlet Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution, Chapter C, P.E.O., Delta Kappa Gamma, Alva Research Club, and Beta Sigma Phi.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Evans; son, Kerry Evans; sister, Dixie Hays; stepfather, Homer Gastineau; and two half-brothers.
Coeta is survived by her children, Dr. Kendall Evans and wife Judy of Aspen, Colo., and their children, Jamie, Jill, Scott and Katy; Kevin Evans and wife Tracy of Woodward and their children, Taryn and Desa; Karyl Evans Morrison and husband Russ of Hudson, Ohio, and their children, Kolton, Kelsey and Kimberly; sister, Ardith Gastineau of Weatherford, Okla.; other relatives and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Alva First Baptist Church or Cherokee Outlet Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution in Alva.

Floyd 'Ty' Lytle II
A memorial service for Floyd “Ty” Wayne Lytle II, age 53, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Addison (JR) Ools officiating.
Ty was born to Kenneth Wayne and Mary Bess (Spencer) Lytle on May 22, 1960, in North Kansas City, Mo., and died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at his home in Enid. -
Douglas Lloyd Champlin
Douglas Lloyd Champlin of Gardnerville, Nev., died peacefully on Monday, May 20, 2013, in Scottsdale, Ariz., after a brief illness of cancer. He was born Jan. 9, 1941, in Enid, Okla., to Joe Noble and Jane Edwards Champlin.
He is survived by his wife, Laurel Raether Champlin; daughter, Christa Hampton and husband Cobey of Cave Creek, Ariz.; daughter, Claire Woolsey and husband Cole of Reno, Nev., and Cassidy Champlin of the home; six grandchildren; sister, Joanna M. Champlin and husband Shawnee Brittan of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends all over the world.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and beloved brother, H.H. “Bud” Champlin, formerly of Enid, Okla.
As a young boy growing up in Enid, Okla., Doug developed a love for history and the military. He became a collector at a young age of toy soldiers, guns, and just about anything he could get his hands on related to history. -
Harold H. Jantzen
The graveside service for Harold H. Jantzen, 80-year-old Newton, Kan., resident will be 3 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2013, in the West New Hopedale cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. The Rev James Suderman will officiate.
Harold was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Bessie, Okla., to Henry K. and Frieda (Froese) Jantzen and died Sunday, May 19, 2013 in Newton, Kan. After graduating high school he attended Grace Bible Intitute and the Bethel College. He then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he obtained his master’s degree. He then earned a specialist’s degree from Emporia College. -
James M. Dillard
Memorial service for James M. Dillard, 61, Pilot Oak, Ky., will be 3 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Byrn Funeral Home Chapel, Mayfield, Ky. Abe Leonard will officiate.
James was born Sept. 5, 1951, in Fairview and died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at home.
Surviving are two daughters, Margo (Chris) Kesinger of Tonkawa, and Francine (Sheldon) Wedel of Pilot Oak; one sister, Judy Dillard of Wichita, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. -

Evie was born Oct. 24, 1940, in Mott, N.D., to Joe and Anna (Mayer) Miller and died May 21, 2013 in Enid.
She is survived by sons, Ivan, Sherlem, and Allan Zimbelman; daughters, Sharon Woods and Shelley Rauh; brothers, Harvey Miller and Dennis Miller; and one grandson, J.R. Zimbelman. -
