MEDFORD — Mass for Ben Kilian, 89, of Medford, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Medford. Rev. Mike Wheelahan will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, with military honors. A prayer vigil will be 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at St. Mary Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Lanman Funeral Home Inc., Medford. (www.lanman memorials.com)

Ben was born Jan. 12, 1923, to Adolph and Goldie Meritt Kilian and died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012.

He attended country schools and graduated from Medford High School in 1940. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945.

He married Deloris Walker Nov. 18, 1947. To this union 12 children were born: Mike, Linda, Tony, Steve, Danny, Nancy, Mary, David, Teresa, Kevin, Gary and Paula.

He was a lifelong farmer and rancher, school bus driver, and worked for the U.S. Post Office in Medford and Pond Creek.

Throughout Ben’s life, his faith, family and friends were very important to him. He also had a great love of horses.

Surviving are his wife, Deloris; seven sons and spouses; five daughters and spouses; one brother, Clifford; 39 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, five sisters and one grandson.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary Building Fund with Lanman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 280, Medford, OK serving as custodian of the funds.
