DAVIDSON — Mrs. Mary Ann Morton Mabry, 67, a resident of Davidson, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Levine Dickson Hospice Center of Huntersville, N.C., after a courageous battle against breast cancer.

She was the loving wife of Dr. Earl Winters “Wynn” Mabry and daughter of the late Paul and Muriel Morton of Guilford, Maine.

Born in Guilford February 12, 1945, she was a graduate of Pisca-taquis Community High School, class of 1963, and Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, class of 1966.

Mary Ann was a devoted Air Force wife and mom of 30 years and lived around the country and abroad before settling 10 years ago in Davidson, N.C. She will be most remembered for her devotion to her family and friends, her gift of compassion and caring and her ability to spread joy and laughter.

Mary Ann was a member of Davidson College Presbyterian Church, where she was a founding and active member of Cancer Wellness Group.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Wynn, of 45 years; daughter Elizabeth Mabry Phillips (Dan) of Marietta, GA; daughter Juliana Mabry Jones (Bobby) of Charlotte; son Maj. Clark Mabry (Angel), USAF stationed in Florida; daughter Madelynn Mabry Hill (Daniel) of Charlotte; seven loving grandchildren and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Morton Stinson.

A celebration of life will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Davidson College Presbyterian Church, 100 N. Main Street, Davidson, N.C. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Ada Jenkins Center of Davidson at www.adajenkins.org. Local arrangements are under direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. Ty was born to Kenneth Wayne and Mary Bess (Spencer) Lytle on May 22, 1960, in North Kansas City, Mo., and died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at his home in Enid.

Douglas Lloyd Champlin
Douglas Lloyd Champlin of Gardnerville, Nev., died peacefully on Monday, May 20, 2013, in Scottsdale, Ariz., after a brief illness of cancer. He was born Jan. 9, 1941, in Enid, Okla., to Joe Noble and Jane Edwards Champlin.
He is survived by his wife, Laurel Raether Champlin; daughter, Christa Hampton and husband Cobey of Cave Creek, Ariz.; daughter, Claire Woolsey and husband Cole of Reno, Nev., and Cassidy Champlin of the home; six grandchildren; sister, Joanna M. Champlin and husband Shawnee Brittan of Oklahoma City, Okla.; and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends all over the world.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and beloved brother, H.H. “Bud” Champlin, formerly of Enid, Okla.
As a young boy growing up in Enid, Okla., Doug developed a love for history and the military. He became a collector at a young age of toy soldiers, guns, and just about anything he could get his hands on related to history.

The graveside service for Harold H. Jantzen, 80-year-old Newton, Kan., resident will be 3 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2013, in the West New Hopedale cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. The Rev James Suderman will officiate.
Harold was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Bessie, Okla., to Henry K. and Frieda (Froese) Jantzen and died Sunday, May 19, 2013 in Newton, Kan. After graduating high school he attended Grace Bible Intitute and the Bethel College. He then attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he obtained his master’s degree. He then earned a specialist’s degree from Emporia College.

Memorial service for James M. Dillard, 61, Pilot Oak, Ky., will be 3 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Byrn Funeral Home Chapel, Mayfield, Ky. Abe Leonard will officiate.
James was born Sept. 5, 1951, in Fairview and died Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at home.
Surviving are two daughters, Margo (Chris) Kesinger of Tonkawa, and Francine (Sheldon) Wedel of Pilot Oak; one sister, Judy Dillard of Wichita, Kan.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Evie was born Oct. 24, 1940, in Mott, N.D., to Joe and Anna (Mayer) Miller and died May 21, 2013 in Enid.
She is survived by sons, Ivan, Sherlem, and Allan Zimbelman; daughters, Sharon Woods and Shelley Rauh; brothers, Harvey Miller and Dennis Miller; and one grandson, J.R. Zimbelman.
