Robert 'R.L.' Crabtree

ENID — The home-going service for Robert Leon Crabtree, 85, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Dan Barrick  officiating. Burial will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Colbert Cemetery, with arrangements by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, Enid.

R.L. was born Jan. 20, 1927, in Dallas, the first of seven children born to Rubert and Ruby (Anderson) Crabtree and passed away Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, in Enid.

R.L. married Marguerrite (Ty) Tyson in 1947, while they were both serving in the military.

He served 20 years in the Air Force before retiring on Sept. 1, 1965. R.L. then made his home in Colbert, where he owned a barber shop before moving to Enid.

On Nov. 12, 1988, he married Ellen Hair in Enid. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church.  

R.L. is survived by wife, Ellen of the home; children, Don Hair of College Station, Texas, Louise Smith of Norman, Barbara (Willard) Taborsky of Enid, and Kathleen Winters of Denison, Texas;  brothers, Jim, Don and Dale Crabtree; sisters, Billie Burke and Wilma Oliver; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Marguerrite; son, Ricky Crabtree; and brother, Andy.

Memorials may be made to First Assembly Bibles for Peru.
