Enid, OK — The funeral service for Gentry D. Brakhage, age 45, will be held Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church. Rev. Wade Burleson will officiate. Burial will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery, Laho-ma, OK. There will be a time of visitation with the family, Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Gentry was born Feb. 24, 1964, in Enid, OK to Gerald and Rosella (Wahl) Brakhage and died Nov. 19, 2009, near Goltry. He was raised in the Lahoma community and graduated from Lahoma High School in 1982. He attended Autry Vo-Tech while he was in high school. He gave his sisters a bad time while growing up and always made them laugh.

He married Dana Klugh on May 16, 1987, in Lahoma at the Zion Lutheran Church.

Gentry was a dairy farmer by trade, but had many other interests. He was a member of the NRA and Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a hard worker and loved the Lord, passing his passion for the Lord to his girls. He built choppers and loved to ride motorcycles. He taught his girls how to shoot rifles and enjoyed spending time with them at the swimming pool, watching movies with Chesney on Friday nights and playing board games with Kiersten. He enjoyed family time with his kids and Dana.

He spent a lot of time at the shop building and repairing. Gentry was very talented and could fix anything. He liked the outdoors and taking the girls on hikes.

He is survived by his wife, Dana; daughters Chesney and Kiersten of the home; his parents Gerald and Rosella Brakhage of Lahoma, three sisters: Julie Schomber and husband David of Ringwood, Kristy Morton and husband Lonnie of Lahoma, and Kasey Griffin and husband Pat of Enid; many nieces and nephews and several aunts, uncles and cousins; his mother-in-law, Shirley Klugh of Enid and brothers and sister-in-law and numerous other family.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Memorials may be made to his children’s education fund with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family at ladusauevans@sudden link mail.com. (Paid Obit 11-21-1)
